Packington is a picturesque and quaint village situated approximately 1 mile South of Ashby town centre. The village has a wealth of historical buildings including an old village prison lock up named 'The Round House’ which was a temporary detention for local villagers. There are many historic buildings within Babelake Street and Mill Street including black and white thatched cottages, as well as the ‘Bull and Lion’ public house. ‘Holy Rood’ Church located on the village boundary is believed to have dated back to the 12th century sits alongside the village playing fields.

Main line rail links to London are well catered for at both Tamworth and Nottingham and East Midlands parkway allowing the commuter to reach the city centre within 70 minutes.
Packington has a school named Packington C of E Primary school which is adjacent to the Village Church. Packington also comes under the catchment area for Ivanhoe Specialist Technology College and Ashby School in Ashby De La Zouch.
